The BTru Story
“Do something for someone often.” When our founder, Sean Fitzgerald established BTru, this was the goal he had in mind.
In 2015, Sean first introduced this program to his classroom of 4th graders, which transformed his life, and his students’ lives and impacted the lives of those they served.
As a young person growing up in inner-city Boston, Sean’s parents modeled being of service to others during a time of racial unrest. This experience created bonds between unexpected neighbors, strengthened a fragile community, and laid the foundation for what would later become BTru.
At BTru, we believe that everyone has something to give and that even the smallest of acts can make a meaningful difference in the world. We strive to create a community of volunteers and supporters who can come together to make a positive change in the lives of those in need. Through our initiatives, we hope to spread altruism, joy, and acts of kindness in our communities.
